Remote Helpdesk Support
If you've been instructed to do so by JB WebTech, then please click the link below to
initiate a remote helpdesk connection.
This is an extremely small program that runs on your computer and will automatically remove itself when the
remote session is over.
Please note that working on a computer remotely is still time that I need to set aside for
you as if I were actually sitting in front of your computer and will be charged accordingly.
If you are running on an operating system after Windows XP (for example: Windows Vista, Windows 7
or Windows Server 2008), then you will need to disable "Desktop Composition" before connecting
remotely otherwise the connection will be extremely slow and there will be huge lags between your
screen changes and the time it takes to see it on this end.
To disable Desktop Composition, click the Start button (the Windows flag at the lower left of your
desktop) and then click on "Run...". A "Run" dialog will display. Type
SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe
in the textbox and click the "Ok" button.
(If you see a UAC (user access control) window then please click the "Continue" button. The "Performance
Options" window should now display. Please
uncheck the
Enable desktop composition option then
click the "Ok" button. Your desktop may look a little different now, but you can restore this setting
after the remote helpdesk session is complete by re-checking the desktop composition option.
Click here to initiate the JB WebTech Remote Helpdesk Support program.
(Please note that the screen shots below are for Internet Explorer. If you're using a different browser, like Google Chrome or Firefox,
then the procedure may be a little different.)
After you click on the above link, please select the "Run" (or "Open") option...

If you get a message about this program being from an unknown publisher, just
click the "Run" or "Open" button again...

On the window that opens, double-click on the "Internet Support" text...
